    Price Transparency

Lawrence County Memorial Hospital is committed to being transparent about our charges. The link below contains our chargemaster, a comprehensive listing of charges for inpatient and outpatient services provided by the hospital and clinic.

    What are "charges"?
Hospital charges are the individual list prices a hospital must set for all of its items and services. The price is determined in advance of providing care and does not change to account for commercial insurance coverage, Medicare, Medicaid or any discounts. Charges are based on what type of care was provided and can differ from patient to patient for the same service depending on any complications or different treatment provided due to the patient’s health. Therefore, actual charges for a specific patient will vary based on medical condition, length of time spent in surgery or recovery, use of specific equipment, supplies or medication, complications requiring unanticipated procedures or other treatment ordered by the physician.

We post chargemaster information to comply with the Requirement for Transparency of Hospital Charges Rule. This rule is intended to help patients understand their potential financial liability for services obtained at our hospital and to allow comparison for similar services at other hospitals. Please note, hospital chargemasters are lengthy and complex documents which do not give price information at a level that is easy to understand.

In determining your individual expenses for upcoming services, this listing of charges is not the best indicator of patient liability. For more information on your specific case, please contact Patient Financial Services at 618-943-1000 ext. 7254.  Any information provided will be an estimate based on the information available before services are rendered and is not a guarantee.
